9. The Bat-Winged A-Frame Lodge
Introduction
A striking, aggressive survival base featuring massively oversized, sweeping rooflines that resemble bat wings. This lodge uses sharp geometry to make a bold Gothic statement in a soft Cherry grove.
What This Idea Means
The A-frame is a classic, cozy cabin style, but by exaggerating the roof pitch and extending the eaves all the way to the ground in a curved, wing-like shape, it becomes dark and Gothic.
Needs to Make That Thing
- Roofing: Dark Oak Stairs, Deepslate Tile Stairs.
- Walls: Cherry Planks, Stripped Cherry Logs.
- Details: Dark Oak Trapdoors, Campfires.
How to Make It
- Lay a rectangular foundation for the main living area.
- Build the roof first: start from the ground, creating a steep, upward-curving triangular shape using Dark Oak Stairs.
- Fill the triangular front and back faces (the gables) with Cherry Planks.
- Install large, tall Gothic windows in the Cherry wood faces to let in light.
- Place a central stone chimney that pierces straight through the peak of the bat-wing roof.
Tips & Variations
- Smokey Chimney: Place a Campfire on top of the chimney block and surround it with Trapdoors to create permanent, realistic smoke for your survival lodge.
- Loft Storage: The extremely high roof creates a perfect attic space for mass chest storage, accessed via ladders.
