15. The Spiked Roof Mountain Keep

Introduction

Sitting atop a snowy mountain peak, this Gothic survival keep uses incredibly sharp, exaggerated Cherry wood roof spikes to pierce the sky, standing out brilliantly against the white snow.

What This Idea Means

This base is all about silhouette. By building high up in a frozen biome, the pink Cherry wood provides a massive splash of warm color, while the dark Deepslate foundation anchors it to the mountain.

Needs to Make That Thing

  • Base: Deepslate Bricks, Mud Bricks.
  • Roof/Spires: Cherry Planks, Cherry Stairs, Cherry Fences.
  • Warmth: Campfires, Lanterns, Redstone Lamps.

How to Make It

  1. Flatten a small area on a high mountain peak.
  2. Build a heavy, thick-walled fortress base using a mix of Deepslate and Mud Bricks to simulate insulation.
  3. Construct the upper floors using Cherry Planks.
  4. Build multiple, extremely narrow and tall roof spires using Cherry Stairs, capping them with Cherry Fences.
  5. Install numerous fireplaces and Campfires inside to visually melt the cold atmosphere.

Tips & Variations

  • Snow Defenses: The steep roofs prevent snow from accumulating on top of your house, maintaining the clean pink aesthetic.
  • Balcony Sniping: Add narrow Mud Brick balconies to shoot skeletons and strays trying to climb your mountain.
