14. The Iron-Grid Alchemist’s Den
Introduction
A gritty, industrial take on the Gothic-Cherry aesthetic. This den relies heavily on iron bars, chains, and dark anvils to create a heavy, dungeon-like laboratory wrapped in pink cherry wood.
What This Idea Means
This is a highly functional brewing and repairing hub. It contrasts the delicate nature of the Cherry wood walls with the brutalist, heavy aesthetic of raw iron and chains.
Needs to Make That Thing
- Metals: Iron Bars, Chains, Anvils, Cauldrons.
- Structure: Cherry Planks, Smooth Stone.
- Utility: Brewing Stands, Campfires.
How to Make It
- Build a low, blocky foundation using Smooth Stone and Tuff.
- Construct the walls using Cherry Planks, but use Iron Bars for all windows and interior partitions.
- Suspend an upper loft entirely via Iron Chains attached to the ceiling.
- Line the walls with Cauldrons, Brewing Stands, and Anvils.
- Use a mix of Cobblestone and Iron Trapdoors for the roof to maintain the heavy industrial vibe.
Tips & Variations
- Chain Lighting: Hang Lanterns from long chains running down the high Gothic ceilings to bring moody light to the brewing stations.
- Zombie Curing Room: Use the Iron Bar partitions to create secure holding cells for curing Zombie Villagers inside your base.
