20. The Gothic Nether Portal Gateway Temple
Introduction
A massive ceremonial temple housing a colossal 20×20 Nether Portal framed within pointed deepslate arches, weeping crying obsidian, and glowing purple amethyst geode arrays.
What This Idea Means
This build treats dimensional travel as a sacred architectural ritual. It turns a simple survival portal into an imposing, cathedral-scale gateway centerpiece.
Needs to Make That Thing
- Palette: Obsidian, Crying Obsidian, Deepslate Bricks, Amethyst Blocks, Purple Glass.
- Portal Framing: Large Obsidian Frame (up to 23×23), Soul Lanterns, Chains.
How to Make It
- Construct a massive 20×20 Nether Portal frame using Obsidian blocks.
- Encase the portal frame inside a grand cathedral facade built from Deepslate Bricks and Crying Obsidian.
- Build pointed gothic arches framing the portal opening, detailing edges with Amethyst Clusters.
- Install tall lancet windows on side walls filled with Purple and Magenta Stained Glass Panes.
- Build a wide stone approach staircase leading up to the glowing purple portal gateway.
Tips & Variations
- Portal Sound Dampening: Place glass walls around the portal frame to muffle ambient nether portal humming sounds inside the temple.
- Weeping Particle Entrance: Cluster Crying Obsidian heavily along the portal doorway lintel so purple tears fall directly across the entrance path.
