13. The Sunken Royal Vault Realm

Introduction

A subterranean world of colossal underground caverns where an entire royal gothic city sits inside a massive gold and deepslate vault shaft extending down to bedrock.

What This Idea Means

This concept flips world building upside down, creating a vertical subterranean kingdom filled with rich gold accents, deepslate arches, and glowing treasure alcoves far below surface level.

Needs to Make That Thing

  • Palette: Deepslate Bricks, Gold Blocks, Raw Gold Blocks, Smooth Quartz, Yellow Glass.
  • Decor: Iron Bars, Chests, Anvils, Candles.

How to Make It

  1. Excavate an enormous cylindrical underground shaft (at least 30 blocks wide) extending down to deepslate layers.
  2. Line the shaft walls with spiraling gothic balcony walkways constructed from Deepslate Bricks.
  3. Build recessed vault chambers along the cavern walls secured by heavy Iron Bar gates.
  4. Construct a central floating royal spire in the middle of the shaft anchored by heavy iron chains.
  5. Decorate vault interiors with Gold Blocks, glowing Sea Lanterns, and stacked chests.

Tips & Variations

  • Gold Pressure Plates: Place Gold Pressure Plates over light blocks along floor edges for sparkling luxury reflections.
  • Subterranean Fog: Leave natural void fog or light smoke near the bedrock bottom to give the vault shaft immense depth.
