17. The Cathedral Citadel Barrier Wall

Introduction

An impenetrable world defense system consisting of a massive, 40-block-tall gothic curtain wall anchored by colossal corner spires, flying buttresses, and an illuminated beacon array.

What This Idea Means

This world showcases mega-scale defensive architecture. It bridges horizontal land boundaries with soaring vertical towers, creating an imposing kingdom border.

How to Make It

  • Palette: Deepslate Bricks, Cobbled Deepslate, Smooth Quartz, Iron Bars, Glass.
  • Beacons: Beacons, Pink/Blue Stained Glass, Sea Lanterns.

How to Make It

  1. Lay out a massive straight or angled wall foundation using Cobbled Deepslate.
  2. Build the main wall curtain 30 to 40 blocks high, texturing with Deepslate Bricks and Tuff.
  3. Construct massive octagonal bastion towers at wall corners supported by heavy flying buttresses.
  4. Top the wall with covered battlements, machicolations, and pointed arch archer ports.
  5. Install a central beacon array in the main tower peak, projecting illuminated light beams into the sky.

Tips & Variations

  • Machicolations: Drop open trapdoor slots along upper wall overhangs so defenders can shoot straight down at wall bases.
  • Internal Corridors: Build wide hollow hallways running through the inside of the wall for safe resource transport between bastion towers.
