13. Spooky Glow-in-the-Dark Window Silhouettes
Turn your entire house into a canvas for a spooky shadow play with giant window silhouettes. During the day, these bold black cutouts look like classic Halloween icons resting in your windows. At night, when the indoor lights are turned on, they cast dramatic, crisp shadows that can be seen clearly from the street. It is one of the most cost-effective ways to decorate your entire home’s exterior using simple, everyday crafting supplies.
To create these, use large sheets of black poster board or heavy cardstock. Draw and cut out classic Halloween shapes, such as stretching black cats, flying witches, creepy hands reaching up, or a pipe-smoking skeleton. Tape these silhouettes directly to the inside of your window panes. To make them pop even more, cover the window behind the silhouette with orange or purple tissue paper or sheer fabric, allowing the light from inside to create a vibrant, colorful backdrop.
